Executive Interview of Bespoke Design

Magdalena Ciborowska
CEO
Kindly share your feedback on how GoodFirms has been doing so far in increasing your visibility among potential clients.
GoodFirms has always been great for us, we love being part of the community and we wouldn’t trade it for anything. The portal helped us get the name out there when we started and since then has been consistently getting us new clients that were browsing design agencies and decided to give us a shot. I have noticed that clients coming from GoodFirms tend to expect timely delivery, great quality, and beautiful designs and we are determined to deliver to them exactly that – hence our great rating on the site which we intend to work hard keeping!
Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the organization.
We are Bespoke Design, a Warsaw-based agency that specializes in designing and developing beautiful, high-converting websites for small and medium businesses.
What is the story behind starting this company?
I started as a freelancer about 10 years ago. I used different crowdsourcing platforms to get clients and design landing pages and websites for but they soon started asking for additional services – above others, WordPress development. I soon realized I had no choice other than to grow my team and evolving from a single designer to an actual multi-scope agency. We are going strong and growing in size each year so I’d say it was a very good decision!
What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
We believe in very tight quality control and treat it as the single most important thing we can promise our clients so we design and develop everything in-house. That way I can keep an eye on and make sure we are always delivering the best quality of services to clients.
How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?
There are a lot of great companies on the market and we love to get inspiration from our competitors but at the end of the day, I believe we are really relentless in pursuit of quality of service and that is what our clients always praise about us.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
Throughout my career, I have probably worked with every kind of client there is. Mom’n’pop shops, mid-size businesses, large enterprises (even a few Fortune 500 companies!), non-profits and individuals from hundreds of industries. I would say though, that IT companies tend to seek web design services the most often.
Please share some of the services that you offer for which clients approach you the most for?
We specialize in designing and developing WordPress websites for small and medium businesses and this is the service we offer most often.
What is your customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?
We are absolutely focused on our clients’ satisfaction and I can confidently say it is at 100%. We always work hard to ensure our clients get exactly what they need, even if it takes us more time or effort. Word of mouth is very important to us and I believe that if we always overdeliver to our clients, they will either return to us with additional orders or refer us to their friends – and this is exactly what happens a lot. Obviously, the process for us always starts with getting to know clients’ expectations and requirements and also helping them understand the exact benefits they will get from having a new website done by us.
What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
It is very important to our team to be always available to clients and maintain the highest level of communication and professionalism. As our client, you are assigned an experienced account manager that is always there to help you navigate through all the steps of the design and development project.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
We usually prepare quotes for our clients based on the scope and complexity of the project so that you know the full cost in advance and you’re not surprised with additional costs, recurring fees, etc. Everything is set out from the beginning of the project and we only ask for 30% of the project cost upfront and the remainder is only due upon project completion. We accept various payment methods and in general, always try to adjust to clients’ needs and work out a plan that works for everyone.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
There is no fixed budget requirement that we apply although, in order to create a custom-made website that is designed from scratch (as opposed to using a cookie-cutter template) and coded by an experienced developer, one should expect to spend not less than $5,000.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2020?
In 2020 we did all kinds of projects with the simplest costing just $3,500 for a set of landing pages and the biggest one being in high five digits for a portal consisting of 40+ subpages.
Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?
I wish anyone could efficiently plan that far ahead! That said, I really want to keep doing what we’ve been doing so far – delivering great, beautiful websites to all kinds of clients. If everything goes well, I guess we would be doing it at an even larger scale and with an even larger team, but as always, with clients’ satisfaction as the top priority!
